  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the unsalted butter in a saucepan or microwave.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter with granulated and brown sugars.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  8. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, allowing space between each cookie.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set but the centers are soft.
  10. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks.

Notes

For a chewier cookie, do not overmix the dough and watch the baking time closely.
