- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Melt the unsalted butter in a saucepan or microwave.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter with granulated and brown sugars.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, allowing space between each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set but the centers are soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks.
Notes
For a chewier cookie, do not overmix the dough and watch the baking time closely.
