  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring (gel)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla, whisking until smooth. Stir in the red food coloring until the mixture is bright red.
  4. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until fully combined.
  5. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Scoop spoonfuls of dough and roll them into balls, then coat each ball in powdered sugar.
  7. Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space for spreading, and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
