Description

Delicious and flaky pastry bombs filled with seasoned ground beef, garlic, cheese, and a touch of parmesan, perfect for family gatherings or cozy dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 lean-to-fat ratio)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 package of rolls or puff pastry
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh herbs (like parsley or chives), for garnish
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp melted butter, for brushing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté minced garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  3. Add ground beef, seasoning with salt and pepper, and cook until no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  4. Mix in cheddar cheese and fresh herbs, and let cool slightly.
  5. Roll out pastry to ¼ inch thick and cut into 4-inch circles.
  6. Place a dollop of meat filling in the center of each circle, fold over and seal edges tightly.
  7. Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with parmesan.
  8. Bake on a lined baking sheet for 20-25 minutes until golden and puffed.
  9. Serve warm with dipping sauces of choice.

Notes

For an extra kick, try using pepper jack cheese instead of cheddar. These bombs freeze well; assemble and freeze unbaked, then add extra cooking time when baking from frozen.
