Description
A warm, soft, and flavorful gluten-free focaccia bread perfect for family gatherings and casual meals.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water (110°F)
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Activate the yeast: In a small bowl, mix warm water with active dry yeast and a pinch of sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly and frothy.
- Combine dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine gluten-free flour and salt. Whisk gently to evenly distribute.
- Mix it all together: Create a well in the center of the dry mixture. Pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a sticky dough forms.
- Knead gently: Knead the dough for about 3-5 minutes until smooth and well combined.
- Let it rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
- Prepare your baking sheet: Generously oil a baking sheet or pan.
- Spread the dough: Transfer the risen dough to the baking sheet and use your fingers to press and spread it into your desired thickness.
- Top it: Sprinkle toppings like sea salt and herbs over the surface.
- Wait again: Cover the dough for about 30 minutes while preheating your oven to 425°F.
- Bake to perfection: Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool and serve: Let it cool slightly before slicing. Best served warm.
