Description
These festive cake bars combine rich chocolatey cake with crushed Oreos and colorful sprinkles, making them a perfect Halloween treat.

- 24 Oreos (regular or Halloween-themed)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup sprinkles (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, crush the Oreos into small pieces and reserve a handful for topping.
- In another bowl, beat the softened butter and cream cheese until fluffy. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing well.
- Incorporate the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, mix the cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually stir into the butter mixture until fully combined.
- Gently fold in the crushed Oreos without overmixing.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Top with reserved Oreos and sprinkles.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool completely before slicing. Optionally frost with cream cheese frosting or enjoy as is.
Notes
For a gluten-sensitive version, substitute Oreos with gluten-free cookies. A vegan cream cheese can also be used to cater to dietary preferences.
