- 1 package of puff pastry or crescent roll dough
- 8 slices of thinly sliced smoked or honey-glazed ham
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 egg, whisked with 1 tbsp water (for egg wash)
- Fresh herbs (like parsley or basil) for seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out your puff pastry on a floured surface or unroll the crescent roll dough.
- Cut the dough into rectangular pieces.
- Place a slice of ham on each piece, followed by a generous amount of cheese and a sprinkle of herbs.
- Fold the dough over the filling and seal the edges firmly. Use a fork to crimp the edges for decoration.
- Brush each stick with the egg wash for color.
- Bake on a parchment-lined baking sheet for about 15-20 minutes until golden and puffed.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
For a healthier twist, consider using whole-grain dough. You can also freeze the sticks either before or after baking.
