Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually fold into the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  6. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes and place them on a lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
  8. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

These cookies can be served warm with ice cream or paired with coffee. For a healthier option, consider adding oats or using almond flour.
