Description

Delightful Homemade Peppermint Patties with a rich dark chocolate coating and a creamy peppermint filling, perfect for holiday treats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon pure peppermint extract
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (or coconut cream)
  • 8 ounces dark chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for thinning chocolate)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine powdered sugar, softened butter, and peppermint extract. Mix until smooth and creamy. Adjust consistency with cream if necessary.
  2. Shape the mixture into small balls and flatten them into discs.
  3. Chill the patties on a wax paper-lined tray until firm, about 30 minutes.
  4. Melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler or microwave until smooth.
  5. Dip each patty into the melted chocolate and allow excess to drip off.
  6. Place the dipped patties back on wax paper and refrigerate until chocolate hardens, about 30 minutes.
  7. Store in an airtight container in the fridge until ready to serve.

Notes

For a sweeter option, you can substitute milk chocolate for the dark chocolate. Ensure the chocolate is tempered for best results.
