Description
Delicious and nostalgic Homemade Peppermint Patties coated in rich chocolate with a refreshing minty center.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- Milk chocolate chips or bar (for dipping)
- Coconut oil (optional, for melting chocolate)
Instructions
- Prepare your workspace by clearing the counter and gathering all ingredients and tools.
- In a medium bowl, combine powdered sugar, sweetened condensed milk, and peppermint extract. Mix until a dough-like consistency is achieved.
- Shape the mixture into small balls and flatten them into disks about 1/4 inch thick on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Refrigerate the patties for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
- Melt the milk chocolate in a microwave or double boiler, stirring in coconut oil for sheen.
- Dip each chilled patty in the melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off, and place back on the parchment-lined sheet.
- Let the dipped patties set at room temperature or speed up the process by chilling in the fridge.
- Enjoy your Homemade Peppermint Patties!
Notes
For a dairy-free option, substitute with coconut condensed milk. You can also use peppermint oil instead of extract if needed.
