Ingredients

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm water (about 110°F)
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ⅓ cup baking soda
- 4 cups water (for boiling)
- 2 tablespoons everything bagel seasoning
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Gradually add to the yeast mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 pieces. Roll each into a 24-inch rope and shape into a pretzel.
- In a pot, bring 4 cups of water and baking soda to a boil. Boil each pretzel for 30 seconds, then remove and place on the baking sheet.
- Brush each pretzel with melted butter and sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with your favorite dips like mustard or cheese sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
