Description
A simple yet profound side dish of Honey Glazed Carrots that blends the sweetness of honey with the earthy flavor of tender carrots, perfect for any family gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh medium-sized carrots, peeled and cut into 2 to 3 inch pieces
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 tablespoons honey
- Pinch of salt
- Fresh herbs (optional, such as thyme or parsley)
Instructions
- Wash and peel the carrots, then cut them into evenly-sized pieces, about 2 to 3 inches long.
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the carrots and cook for 5–7 minutes until they’re slightly tender but still crisp. Drain the carrots well.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the honey and a pinch of salt once it’s bubbling.
- Add the drained carrots to the skillet, stirring gently to coat them evenly in the honey-butter mixture. Cook for about 5 minutes until the carrots are golden and the sauce thickens slightly.
- Sprinkle with fresh chopped herbs just before serving for added flavor.
- Serve warm and enjoy the delightful treat!
Notes
Ensure carrots are cut uniformly for even cooking. Don’t overcook them; they should remain slightly crisp. You can add a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg for the holidays.
