Description

A delightful blend of crunchy walnuts and sweet figs, drizzled with honey, creating a nostalgic dish that brings family together.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups raw walnuts
  • 1 cup fresh or dried figs, halved or quartered
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme or rosemary (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spread the raw walnuts on a lined baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil and honey, and sprinkle a pinch of salt.
  3. Toss the walnuts gently to coat them evenly.
  4. Roast in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden and fragrant.
  5. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before mixing in the figs.
  6. Add herbs and extra honey if desired, mixing gently to combine.
  7. Serve warm, either on their own or atop a salad.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. These can also be frozen for about three months.
