Description

A creamy and savory dip made with sautéed mushrooms, garlic, and a cheesy base, perfect for gatherings and family get-togethers.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups diced cremini and shiitake mushrooms
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 23 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite)
  • 1 splash of Worcestershire sauce
  • Fresh herbs like thyme or parsley, to taste
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté onions and mushrooms until tender (5-7 minutes).
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.
  3. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sour cream, shredded cheese, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
  4. Fold in the sautéed ingredients until well combined.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, and fresh herbs to taste.
  6. Transfer to a baking dish and smooth the top. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving with crackers or baguette slices.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different types of mushrooms and cheeses. Greek yogurt can be used as a lighter alternative to cream cheese.
