- 3 cups Chex cereal (any variety)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup mixed nuts (pecans and almonds recommended)
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional: M&Ms, pretzels, or popcorn
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C).
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Melt unsalted butter in a saucepan over medium heat; stir in brown sugar until dissolved.
- Add vanilla extract and stir to combine.
- In a large bowl, combine Chex cereal and mixed nuts; pour buttery mixture over and fold to coat.
- Spread mixture on the prepared baking sheet and bake for about 60 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
- Sprinkle mini chocolate chips over warm mix; let melt slightly.
- Cool completely on baking sheet before breaking into pieces; store in an airtight container.
