- 12 jumbo pasta shells
- 8 oz fresh or frozen shrimp, chopped
- 8 oz crab meat
- 16 oz whole milk ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1 shallot, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp fresh dill
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Boil salted water and cook the jumbo shells according to package instructions until al dente, about 10-12 minutes; drain and cool.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, sauté garlic and shallots until translucent.
- Stir in shrimp and crab, cooking until opaque; remove from heat and let cool.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta, mozzarella, herbs, salt, and pepper; gently fold in the seafood mixture.
- In a saucepan, heat heavy cream, whisk in cream cheese until smooth; season to taste.
- Spread sauce in a baking dish, stuff shells with filling, place them open side up; cover with remaining sauce.
- Bake covered for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes until bubbly.
- Let rest, garnish with herbs, and serve.
Notes
Can substitute shrimp with lobster or a variety of fish. For vegetarian option, try using tofu or chickpeas.
