Description

A spicy and savory dish combining gochujang, chicken, and aromatic ingredients, perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless chicken (breast or thighs)
  • 3 tbsp gochujang (Korean red chili paste)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 scallions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine gochujang, soy sauce, minced garlic, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Add chicken pieces and coat well. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes or overnight for better flavor.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add a drizzle of sesame oil and heat up.
  3. Add the marinated chicken to the pan, avoiding overcrowding. Cook for about 8-10 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Add a bit of water if it starts to stick.
  4. Sprinkle with chopped scallions and sesame seeds before serving hot over steamed rice or with lettuce wraps.

Notes

Adjust the heat level by adding more or less gochujang or including red pepper flakes during cooking.
