Description
A creamy and refreshing lemon panna cotta, perfect for summer gatherings and celebrations.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon gelatin
- 2 tablespoons cold water
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional toppings: fresh berries, sprig of mint, or a drizzle of honey
Instructions
- Start by sprinkling the gelatin over 2 tablespoons of cold water in a small bowl. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it blooms.
- In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract. Heat over medium-low heat until it’s just about to boil. Stir occasionally to ensure the sugar dissolves completely.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until it’s fully dissolved.
- Stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice and zest to the cream mixture.
- Pour the mixture into individual serving cups or a large mold, and refrigerate for at least 240 minutes—or until set.
- Once set, serve your Lemon Panna Cotta with fresh berries or a drizzle of honey.
Notes
Ensure the cream is heated gently to avoid a grainy texture. Allow adequate chilling time for the dessert to set properly.
