Ingredients
- Mashed potatoes (fresh or leftovers)
- Butter
- Cream or milk
- Cheese (cheddar, cream cheese, or goat cheese)
- Aromatics (garlic and onion)
- Fresh herbs (chives or parsley)
- Toppings (crispy bacon, sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- If using fresh potatoes, peel and cut into quarters. Boil until fork-tender, about 15 minutes; drain and return to pot.
- Add butter, cream, and desired seasonings to the potatoes. Mash until smooth and fluffy; taste and adjust seasoning.
- Fold in cheese and chopped herbs.
- Scoop mixture into cups using a piping bag or spoon, leaving space at the top for toppings.
- Layer toppings on each cup.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until tops are golden and crispy.
- Serve warm.
Notes
You can substitute butter or cream with vegetable broth or olive oil for a lighter version. Customize toppings for variety.
