Ingredients

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  4. In another bowl, beat the butter with the sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk, starting and ending with the dry mixture.
  7. Gently fold in the blueberries.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  11. Prepare the cream cheese frosting by mixing softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth, then frost the cooled cake.
  12. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

For a lighter option, consider using Greek yogurt instead of cream cheese for frosting. This cake freezes well if wrapped properly.
