- 8 oz pasta (spaghetti, fettuccine, or bowtie)
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh herbs (basil, parsley, or your choice)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for garnish)
- Salt (to taste)
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Boil a large pot of salted water and add the pasta. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, reserving a cup of pasta water before draining.
- Prepare the Garlic: In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat, then add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Combine Pasta and Butter: Add the drained pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat. If dry, add a splash of reserved pasta water.
- Mix in Fresh Herbs: Remove from heat and stir in the fresh herbs. Add grated Parmesan if desired.
- Season and Serve: Adjust seasoning, plate the noodles, and finish with more cheese, cracked black pepper, and herbs.
Notes
For extra flavor, finish with a squeeze of lemon juice.
