Description

A delicious appetizer featuring crispy crostini topped with rich, glazed bacon and fresh herbs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 fresh baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch thick slices
  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh herbs (chives or parsley), for garnish
  • 4 oz cream cheese or goat cheese

Instructions

  1. Slice the baguette and brush each slice lightly with olive oil.
  2. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake the bread for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium-high heat for 6-8 minutes until crispy.
  4. Mix maple syrup and black pepper, then coat the cooked bacon in the glaze.
  5. Spread cream cheese or goat cheese on the baked crostini.
  6. Top with glazed bacon and garnish with fresh herbs before serving warm.

Notes

Use cast-iron skillet for even heat when cooking bacon. Avoid overly thin bread slices to prevent sogginess.
