- 1 fresh baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch thick slices
- 6 slices thick-cut bacon
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh herbs (chives or parsley), for garnish
- 4 oz cream cheese or goat cheese
Instructions
- Slice the baguette and brush each slice lightly with olive oil.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake the bread for 5-7 minutes.
- Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium-high heat for 6-8 minutes until crispy.
- Mix maple syrup and black pepper, then coat the cooked bacon in the glaze.
- Spread cream cheese or goat cheese on the baked crostini.
- Top with glazed bacon and garnish with fresh herbs before serving warm.
Notes
Use cast-iron skillet for even heat when cooking bacon. Avoid overly thin bread slices to prevent sogginess.
