  • Author: sara

  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Delightful bites of fresh apples coated in warm caramel, enhanced with a sprinkle of sea salt and optional nuts for added crunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Fresh Apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • Caramel Sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • Sea Salt (for sprinkling)
  • Chopped Nuts (optional: almonds, pecans, or walnuts)

Instructions

  1. Wash and slice apples into bite-sized wedges. Optionally, toss with a little lemon juice to prevent browning.
  2. Melt the caramel sauce in a saucepan over low heat, adding butter and stirring until smooth.
  3. Dip each apple wedge into the warm caramel, letting excess caramel drip off.
  4. Place the coated apple bites onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Sprinkle with sea salt and chopped nuts while the caramel is still warm.
  6. Refrigerate the baking sheet for a few minutes to allow the caramel to firm up.
  7. Transfer the bites to a serving platter and enjoy!

Notes

Allowing the bites to chill helps them hold together and enhances the flavor profile.
