Description
Delightful bites of fresh apples coated in warm caramel, enhanced with a sprinkle of sea salt and optional nuts for added crunch.
Ingredients
Scale
- Fresh Apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- Caramel Sauce (homemade or store-bought)
- 1 tablespoon Butter
- Sea Salt (for sprinkling)
- Chopped Nuts (optional: almonds, pecans, or walnuts)
Instructions
- Wash and slice apples into bite-sized wedges. Optionally, toss with a little lemon juice to prevent browning.
- Melt the caramel sauce in a saucepan over low heat, adding butter and stirring until smooth.
- Dip each apple wedge into the warm caramel, letting excess caramel drip off.
- Place the coated apple bites onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Sprinkle with sea salt and chopped nuts while the caramel is still warm.
- Refrigerate the baking sheet for a few minutes to allow the caramel to firm up.
- Transfer the bites to a serving platter and enjoy!
Notes
Allowing the bites to chill helps them hold together and enhances the flavor profile.
