Description

Delightful Mini Chocolate Tarts with a buttery crust and rich chocolate filling, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 6 ounces high-quality dark or semi-sweet chocolate
  • ¾ cup heavy cream
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add butter and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Gradually add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough forms. Don’t overmix.
  3. Cut the dough into small circles and press into the tartlet pan. Prick the bottoms with a fork and chill for 30 minutes.
  4. Bake the tart shells for 15-20 minutes or until lightly golden. Let them cool.
  5. In a saucepan, combine heavy cream and chocolate over low heat, stirring until smooth. Cool slightly, then whisk in eggs and vanilla.
  6. Pour the chocolate mixture into each tart shell and bake for an additional 10-12 minutes until set but soft in the center. Let cool.
  7. Serve with powdered sugar, berries, or whipped cream if desired.

Notes

For a richer flavor, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top or add a bit of espresso powder to the chocolate mixture.
