Description

A deliciously rich and umami-packed dish of grilled rock lobster glazed with a savory miso-butter mixture, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 Rock lobsters (fresh or thawed if frozen)
  • 3 tablespoons Miso paste (preferably white)
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 Lime (zest and juice)
  • Fresh herbs (such as cilantro or chives, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. If using live lobsters, boil for 10 minutes until shells turn bright red. Let cool, then cut in half lengthwise and remove unwanted bits.
  2. In a bowl, mix softened butter, miso paste, minced garlic, lime juice, and zest to create the miso-butter mixture.
  3. Preheat grill to medium-high heat and brush with oil to prevent sticking.
  4. Generously slather miso-butter mixture over lobster flesh.
  5. Place lobster halves flesh side down on the grill. Grill for 5-7 minutes until caramelized, then flip and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes.
  6. Remove from grill and garnish with chopped herbs and a squeeze of lime before serving.

Notes

Serve with coconut rice, green salad, or garlic bread. Pair with white wine or light lager.
