  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 package sturdy crackers
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Lay the bacon strips in a single layer on the baking sheet and bake for about 10-12 minutes.
  4. Mix the brown sugar and black pepper in a small bowl.
  5. Remove the partially cooked bacon from the oven and sprinkle the sugar mixture over it.
  6. Return the bacon to the oven for an additional 10-15 minutes, until crispy and caramelized.
  7. Let the bacon cool on a wire rack.
  8. Assemble the crackers by placing a pile of Parmesan on each and topping with a piece of candied bacon.
  9. Broil the assembled crackers for 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts.
  10. Serve immediately.
