  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 8 ounces pasta of choice (spaghetti, penne, gluten-free)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente, reserving 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. In a food processor, combine the basil, pine nuts, garlic, and Parmesan cheese and pulse until coarsely chopped.
  3. With the processor running, drizzle in the olive oil until a smooth consistency is reached. Adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, and lemon juice as desired.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained pasta and pesto. Use reserved pasta water as needed to loosen the sauce.
