Description

Warm, flaky pastries bursting with sweet peach filling, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe peaches, sliced
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling: Wash and slice peaches, then mix with sugar, cornstarch, and spices. Set aside for 15 minutes.
  2. Roll out the pastry: Unfold puff pastry on a floured surface, roll to 1/8 inch thick, and cut into 4×4 inch squares.
  3. Fill the pastry: Spoon peach filling onto each pastry square.
  4. Seal the turnovers: Fold pastry over, press edges together, and crimp with a fork.
  5. Brush with egg wash: Whisk egg and brush over the tops.
  6. Bake: Place on a lined baking sheet and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Cool and serve: Allow to cool for a few minutes, dust with powdered sugar, and serve warm.

Notes

For a twist, consider adding a splash of lemon juice to the peach filling or serving with vanilla ice cream.
