- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Prepare the filling: Wash and slice peaches, then mix with sugar, cornstarch, and spices. Set aside for 15 minutes.
- Roll out the pastry: Unfold puff pastry on a floured surface, roll to 1/8 inch thick, and cut into 4×4 inch squares.
- Fill the pastry: Spoon peach filling onto each pastry square.
- Seal the turnovers: Fold pastry over, press edges together, and crimp with a fork.
- Brush with egg wash: Whisk egg and brush over the tops.
- Bake: Place on a lined baking sheet and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool and serve: Allow to cool for a few minutes, dust with powdered sugar, and serve warm.
