Description

A delightful dessert that layers creamy cheesecake, crunchy pecans, and sweet caramel in a beautifully presented trifle.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup toasted pecans, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup crushed gingersnap cookies or graham crackers
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese in a mixing bowl. Beat it until smooth, then add sugar and sour cream. Continue mixing until combined.
  2. Crush your gingersnap cookies or graham crackers in a blender. Mix with melted butter until resembling wet sand. Press into the bottom of your trifle dish.
  3. Toast the pecans in a skillet over medium heat until fragrant. Chop them coarsely.
  4. Assemble the trifle: Start with a layer of crust, then cheesecake mix, caramel sauce, and pecans. Repeat layers, finishing with whipped cream and more pecans.
  5. Chill the assembled trifle in the fridge for a few hours or overnight.
  6. Serve with a large spoon, highlighting the beautiful layers.

Notes

To lighten the dessert, Greek yogurt can be used in place of sour cream. For a gluten-free version, opt for gluten-free cookies.
