- 16 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup toasted pecans, chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1 cup crushed gingersnap cookies or graham crackers
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
Instructions
- Soften the cream cheese in a mixing bowl. Beat it until smooth, then add sugar and sour cream. Continue mixing until combined.
- Crush your gingersnap cookies or graham crackers in a blender. Mix with melted butter until resembling wet sand. Press into the bottom of your trifle dish.
- Toast the pecans in a skillet over medium heat until fragrant. Chop them coarsely.
- Assemble the trifle: Start with a layer of crust, then cheesecake mix, caramel sauce, and pecans. Repeat layers, finishing with whipped cream and more pecans.
- Chill the assembled trifle in the fridge for a few hours or overnight.
- Serve with a large spoon, highlighting the beautiful layers.
Notes
To lighten the dessert, Greek yogurt can be used in place of sour cream. For a gluten-free version, opt for gluten-free cookies.
