A delightful and easy-to-make dish featuring perfectly seared trout with a rich garlic butter sauce, brightened with fresh lemon and parsley.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Trout fillets (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lemon (juice and zest)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped finely
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the trout fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat until bubbly and fragrant.
  3. Place fillets skin-side down in the skillet and sear for 3-4 minutes until golden and crispy.
  4. Carefully flip the trout, add minced garlic, and sauté for an additional minute, basting with melted butter.
  5. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the trout and sprinkle with zest. Cook for another minute.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges.

Notes

Make sure the skillet is hot enough before adding the trout for the best sear.
