- Trout fillets (fresh or frozen)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lemon (juice and zest)
- Fresh parsley, chopped finely
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Pat the trout fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat until bubbly and fragrant.
- Place fillets skin-side down in the skillet and sear for 3-4 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Carefully flip the trout, add minced garlic, and sauté for an additional minute, basting with melted butter.
- Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the trout and sprinkle with zest. Cook for another minute.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges.
Notes
Make sure the skillet is hot enough before adding the trout for the best sear.
