Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, melt the butter. Stir in granulated sugar and brown sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Incorporate vanilla extract and red food coloring.
  3. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt. Stir until just combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and a splash of vanilla extract until fluffy. Fold in additional egg if using.
  5. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Spread the cheesecake mixture on top, and then spoon the remaining brownie batter over the cheesecake, creating a marbled effect.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Allow to cool in the pan, then lift out using parchment paper, cut into squares, and serve.

Notes

For added flavor, dust with cocoa powder or drizzle with chocolate ganache before serving.
