- 1/2 cup buttermilk

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla and red food coloring.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the buttermilk until the dough is soft and slightly sticky.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Scoop the dough into balls and roll in powdered sugar.
- Place onto the baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
