Ingredients

  • 34 cups sifted powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

  • Water (as needed)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 2 egg whites and whisk until frothy.
  2. Gradually add sifted powdered sugar while mixing until stiff peaks form.
  3. For flavored icing, add your favorite extract with the egg whites.
  4. If using meringue powder, combine it with 2 tablespoons of water and whisk until foamy before adding powdered sugar.
  5. Divide icing for coloring if desired, adding gel food colors while keeping consistency in mind.
  6. Store any leftovers in an airtight container.
