Description
A delicious salmon dish with a savory-sweet marinade and a crunchy sesame seed topping, perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 salmon fillets
- 3 tbsp sesame seeds (toasted and raw)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce or tamari
- 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tbsp grapeseed or sesame oil
- 2 green onions or chives, sliced
Instructions
- Prepare the Marinade: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
- Marinate the Salmon: Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes.
- Heat the Skillet: In a large skillet, heat grapeseed or sesame oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Sear the Salmon: Remove salmon from marinade, sprinkle sesame seeds on the top and place skin-side down in the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes until skin is crispy.
- Flip and Finish Cooking: Carefully flip the fillets, add remaining marinade, and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes. Sprinkle with both toasted and raw sesame seeds.
- Garnish and Serve: Transfer salmon to a platter and sprinkle with sliced green onions or chives. Serve hot over steamed rice or vegetables.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, substitute salmon with tofu. Ensure the skillet is hot enough for a crispy skin.
