Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (dark or semi-sweet)
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 tsp sea salt (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl until creamy and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and a pinch of sea salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a lined baking sheet, leaving space between them. Make a small indent in each scoop and drizzle caramel sauce on top, then cover with more cookie dough.
  8. Sprinkle with sea salt before baking.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden and centers look soft.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, use almond flour or oat flour. For dairy-free, substitute coconut oil for butter.
