Description
Delicious chicken cutlets coated in a sweet and spicy honey glaze, perfect for a quick family-friendly meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken cutlets
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger (optional)
Instructions
- Prep the Chicken: Start with uniform cutlets for even cooking. If they’re too thick, pound them gently with a meat mallet until thinner.
- Mix the Sauce: In a small bowl, combine honey, olive oil, chili flakes, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt.
- Marinate the Chicken: Coat each cutlet in the honey mixture, ensuring they’re well-covered. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Heat the Skillet: Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil to coat the bottom.
- Cook the Cutlets: Once the oil is shimmering, add the chicken cutlets. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Glaze the Chicken (optional): In the last minute of cooking, brush extra honey mixture over top for added sweetness.
- Serve: Remove the cutlets and let them rest for a couple of minutes. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, substitute chicken with tofu or thin slices of pork. Consider using spicy honey for an extra kick.
