Ingredients
- Beef Chuck Roast
- Barbecue Sauce
- Onion (yellow or sweet)
- Garlic (fresh)
- Beef Broth
- Salt
- Pepper
- Smoked Paprika (optional)
- Cumin (optional)
- Cayenne (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the beef by trimming excess fat and seasoning generously with salt and pepper.
- Sear the beef in a skillet (optional) for added flavor.
- Layer sliced onions in the bottom of the slow cooker, place beef on top, add minced garlic, beef broth, and barbecue sauce.
- Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4-5 hours.
- Remove beef, shred it while warm, and mix it back with the sauce in the slow cooker.
- Serve on soft buns topped with coleslaw or desired toppings.
Notes
Searing the beef enhances flavor. Make sure not to use lean cuts to avoid dry meat.
