- 1 lb ground meat (lamb, beef, turkey, or plant-based)
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 carrots, diced
- 1 cup peas
- 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 4 cups mashed potatoes (homemade or store-bought)
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Sauté the onions and garlic in olive oil until translucent.
- Add ground meat and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Transfer meat mixture to slow cooker; add carrots, peas, Worcestershire sauce, and broth. Stir to combine.
- Prepare mashed potatoes and layer over the meat mixture in the slow cooker.
- Top with cheddar cheese.
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4 hours. Let sit before serving.
Notes
Feel free to add leftover vegetables for added texture and nutrients. For a lighter version, consider substituting some potatoes with cauliflower mash.
