Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground meat (lamb, beef, turkey, or plant-based)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 1 cup peas
  • 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes (homemade or store-bought)
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Sauté the onions and garlic in olive oil until translucent.
  2. Add ground meat and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Transfer meat mixture to slow cooker; add carrots, peas, Worcestershire sauce, and broth. Stir to combine.
  4. Prepare mashed potatoes and layer over the meat mixture in the slow cooker.
  5. Top with cheddar cheese.
  6. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4 hours. Let sit before serving.

Notes

Feel free to add leftover vegetables for added texture and nutrients. For a lighter version, consider substituting some potatoes with cauliflower mash.
