Description

A comforting burrito filled with smoky chicken, roasted green chiles, and fresh ingredients, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups smoked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup roasted green chiles
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack or cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Smoked Chicken by seasoning and smoking until internal temperature reaches 165°F, about 3-4 hours. Shred once rested.
  2. Sauté diced onions in a skillet with olive oil over medium heat until translucent and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, combine shredded chicken, sautéed onions, green chiles, cilantro, and lime juice. Mix well and taste for seasoning.
  4. Assemble burritos by laying a tortilla flat, adding filling to the center, folding in sides, and rolling tightly.
  5. Toast the burrito in a dry skillet for 2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Serve warm with salsa, sour cream, or guacamole.

Notes

Customize the burrito by adding jalapeños for extra heat or using gluten-free tortillas if needed.
