A creamy and smoky dip made with Gouda cheese and caramelized onions, perfect for gatherings and family reunions.
Ingredients

- 8 oz Smoked Gouda Cheese, grated
- 2 medium Sweet Onions, finely chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 8 oz Cream Cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup Sour Cream
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Fresh Thyme or Parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Prepare the ingredients: Finely chop the onions and garlic, and grate the smoked Gouda if not pre-shredded.
- Sauté the onions in 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat with a pinch of salt for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, and half of the shredded Gouda; mix until smooth.
- Fold the cooked onions and garlic into the cream mixture. Season with salt, pepper, and herbs, and adjust to taste.
- Transfer the mixture to an oven-safe dish, sprinkle the remaining Gouda on top, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool slightly before serving with fresh veggies, chips, or toasted bread.
Notes
For an extra flavor boost, add a splash of Worcestershire sauce to the dip mixture.
