Description

A creamy and smoky dip made with Gouda cheese and caramelized onions, perfect for gatherings and family reunions.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz Smoked Gouda Cheese, grated
  • 2 medium Sweet Onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Fresh Thyme or Parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients: Finely chop the onions and garlic, and grate the smoked Gouda if not pre-shredded.
  2. Sauté the onions in 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat with a pinch of salt for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, and half of the shredded Gouda; mix until smooth.
  5. Fold the cooked onions and garlic into the cream mixture. Season with salt, pepper, and herbs, and adjust to taste.
  6. Transfer the mixture to an oven-safe dish, sprinkle the remaining Gouda on top, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  7. Let it cool slightly before serving with fresh veggies, chips, or toasted bread.

Notes

For an extra flavor boost, add a splash of Worcestershire sauce to the dip mixture.
