Description

These soft gluten-free dinner rolls are warm, fluffy, and buttery, perfect for any family gathering or meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups gluten-free flour blend (with xanthan gum)
  • 1 cup warm milk (dairy-free option: almond or oat milk)
  • 1 packet instant or active dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (substitute with coconut oil for dairy-free)
  • 2 large eggs (or flaxseed meal mixed with water as a substitute)

Instructions

  1. Combine warm milk and honey in a bowl. Sprinkle yeast on top and let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together gluten-free flour blend and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough, divide into 12 pieces, shape into balls, and place on a greased baking sheet.
  7. Cover and let the rolls rise again for 30-45 minutes until puffy.
  8. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Brush with melted butter after baking.

Notes

Give ample time for rising; patience ensures fluffy rolls. Consider using steam while baking for a delightful crust.
