Description
A cozy treat blending the warm spices of ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg, topped with a creamy frosting.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour blend)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs (or flaxseed meal for vegan)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (or melted coconut oil for dairy-free)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy cream (for frosting)
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for frosting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, blending thoroughly after each addition, and add vanilla extract.
- Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients with the wet, mixing just until combined.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing it out evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool completely. Meanwhile, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla.
- Once brownies are cooled, spread the creamy frosting generously on top, slice into squares, and serve.
