Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound sirloin or flank steak
- 1 cup plain or panko breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika or cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Flour for dredging
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Slice the steak into strips about 1 inch wide and 4 inches long.
- Tenderize the meat slightly with a mallet if using a tougher cut.
- Create a breading station with three bowls: one for seasoned flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for breadcrumbs mixed with paprika.
- Dip the steak strips into the seasoned flour, shaking off excess flour.
- Dip the strips in the egg, ensuring they are thoroughly coated.
- Press the strips into the breadcrumb mixture to cover completely.
- In a large skillet, heat about half an inch of oil over medium heat.
- Carefully place the breaded steak fingers in the skillet, avoiding overcrowding.
- Cook for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
- Drain on paper towels and serve with your favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
For best results, ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to avoid sogginess.
