Stuffed Cheesy Garlic Bread

Description

A comforting and delicious stuffed garlic bread filled with gooey cheese and sautéed mushrooms, perfect for family gatherings or casual get-togethers.


Ingredients

  • 1 French or Italian loaf
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup cremini or button mushrooms, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Stir in chopped mushrooms and cook until softened, about 3-5 minutes. Set aside to cool.
  4. Slice the loaf in half lengthwise and hollow out some of the inner bread.
  5. Combine sautéed garlic and mushrooms with shredded cheeses and fresh herbs, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  6. Spread remaining butter on cut sides of the bread.
  7. Fill the hollowed loaf with the cheese mixture, adding extra cheese on top.
  8. Wrap in aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes; then remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until golden and bubbling.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving warm.

Notes

For a plant-based version, use vegan cheese alternatives. You can swap mushrooms for spinach or artichokes for a lighter filling.
