Description

A delightful bread bowl filled with a creamy mixture of crab, shrimp, and fragrant herbs, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 round bread loaf (sourdough or rustic)
  • 8 oz crab meat
  • 8 oz shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 splash of lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cut the top off the bread loaf to create a bowl. Hollow out the inside, leaving a thick crust along the edges. Save the scraps for dipping!
  3. Sauté chopped onions and minced garlic in olive oil until soft and fragrant.
  4. Add seafood and cook until just done, about 3-5 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, mix seafood with cream cheese, lemon juice, parsley, dill, salt, and pepper.
  6. Spoon the filling into the hollowed bread bowl.
  7. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until the top is golden.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Feel free to customize the filling with leftover seafood or vegetables of your choice.
