- 1 tsp cream of tartar

- 1 1/2 cups M&Ms
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking trays with parchment paper.
- Cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar in a separate bowl.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the M&Ms, reserving some for topping.
- Drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared trays, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Press additional M&Ms on top for a pop of color.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For a chewy cookie, ensure butter is softened, not melted. Refrigerating the dough for 30 minutes can help maintain shape while baking.
