Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups cranberries (fresh or frozen)
- 3–4 fresh jalapeños, sliced
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of ground clove or allspice (optional)
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients on your countertop.
- Wearing gloves, remove the stems and slice the jalapeños, removing seeds if desired.
- In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, sliced jalapeños, sugar, and apple cider vinegar over medium heat.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 10-15 minutes until cranberries soften.
- Add minced garlic and spices, letting it simmer for another 5-7 minutes.
- Check the consistency; if too runny, cook a minute longer.
- Transfer into sterilized jars while warm and seal once cooled.
- Let sit for at least 24 hours before enjoying for best flavor.
Notes
For a milder version, use bell peppers instead of jalapeños. Feel free to experiment with additional fruits or flavors like orange zest.
