Description
A delightful blend of sweet cranberries and spicy jalapeños, this cowboy candy adds a unique twist to your culinary tradition.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh cranberries
- 4–6 fresh jalapeños, sliced
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp allspice
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- Prepare your ingredients: Wash cranberries thoroughly and remove any stems. Slice jalapeños and remove the seeds if you prefer a milder kick.
- Make the syrup: In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely (about 3-5 minutes).
- Add the spices: Stir in apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, allspice, and sliced jalapeños. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
- Simmer the cranberries: Carefully add the cranberries to the saucepot. Reduce the heat and let it simmer on low for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cranberries start to pop.
- Cool and store: Remove from heat and let the mixture cool completely. Transfer it to clean jars and refrigerate for at least 24 hours for flavors to develop.
Notes
Taste the mixture before storing to adjust sweetness or spice level based on personal preference.
