A sweet and crunchy snack mix featuring Chex cereal, pretzels, and nuts coated in a delicious toffee mixture.

- 3 cups Chex cereal (Rice or Corn)
- 2 cups pretzels
- 1 cup mixed nuts (pecans, almonds, walnuts)
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 250°F (121°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the Chex cereal, pretzels, and mixed nuts, stirring gently to mix.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add brown sugar and stir until the mixture boils gently. Let it bubble for 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and baking soda, being cautious as it may bubble up.
- Pour the toffee mixture over the cereal mix and use a spatula to coat everything evenly.
- Spread the mixture onto a lined baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes for even cooking.
- Once done, remove from the oven and cool completely before breaking into pieces. Store in an airtight container.
Notes
Serve in a large bowl for snacking or in small jars for gifting. Can be paired with hot cocoa or spiced cider.
