- 1 can of high-quality tuna, drained
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian-seasoned)
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh herbs (parsley or dill), chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Oil for frying (olive or vegetable)
Instructions
- Drain the canned tuna thoroughly and flake it into a mixing bowl.
- Add breadcrumbs, chopped onions, minced garlic, fresh herbs, egg, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into patties about the size of your palm.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat, then carefully place the patties in the pan.
- Cook for 3-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and heated through.
- Transfer cooked patties to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve warm.
Notes
Chilling the formed patties for 30 minutes before frying can help them hold their shape and improve texture.
