Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Tuna Patties that evoke nostalgia and warmth, perfect for family gatherings or busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can of high-quality tuna, drained
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian-seasoned)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh herbs (parsley or dill), chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Oil for frying (olive or vegetable)

Instructions

  1. Drain the canned tuna thoroughly and flake it into a mixing bowl.
  2. Add breadcrumbs, chopped onions, minced garlic, fresh herbs, egg, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into patties about the size of your palm.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat, then carefully place the patties in the pan.
  5. Cook for 3-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and heated through.
  6. Transfer cooked patties to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve warm.

Notes

Chilling the formed patties for 30 minutes before frying can help them hold their shape and improve texture.
