- 6–8 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 cup oats
- 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel, core, and slice the apples into even wedges. Toss them in a bowl with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
- In another bowl, combine oats, flour, chopped nuts, and melted butter. Mix until crumbly.
- Layer the spiced apples in a greased baking dish, then sprinkle the oat mixture on top.
- Bake for about 45 minutes until apples are tender and topping is golden.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
